I never understood what the big deal was about. I did not want to pay twice as much for my meatloaf, or roasted chicken.

But the book said that meat from animals that are fed corn and soy, will cause the same inflammatory reactions in our bodies that the corn and soy do.

So because I was desperate I started watching for sales on Organic-Grass Fed  Beef and Chicken. Though I love pork, I stayed away from it.

I learned to stretch the ground beef into casseroles instead of meat loaf and hamburgers. I learned to buy whole chickens, and roast them to save money. I picked the pieces off of the carcass, and used the bones to make my healing bone broth.  We ate wild caught fish,  instead of farm raised. On rare occasion I did buy some grass fed pork. It exists, but it is expensive.

I am not a big meat eater, but I will tell you that grass fed is delicious. I notice the taste difference and texture. Last night I splurged and made a meatloaf. Steve said that it was the best meatloaf that he had ever eaten. I feel accomplished.

One day, I would like to buy a side of pasture raised beef for the freezer, but that would mean that I have to empty it out (the freezer) to make room. For now; I will buy what I can and  prepare it in cost saving ways.

My son is talking about  getting a farm of his own, and raising organic grass fed food.

Who’s his mamma?!

I need a farm.
