Gentlemen, plant your pumpkins

I have told you that you can plant every month of the year in the desert and harvest something everyday.

It is 89 degrees at 9:00 in the morning and due to hit 111.

But you can plant basil, pole beans. Corn, eggplant, garlic, jicama, melons, okra, peppers, pumpkin, squashes, sunflowers, Sweet potato slips and tomatillo.

The soil is nice and warm to germinate the seeds. Keep it moist and you will be ok

Pumpkins need 110 days of frost free weather. We can do that. But if you want jackolanterns for Halloween, you need to count back 110 days from Oct 31st.
So just to make sure of a nice big one, I am planting now.

We are still harvesting tomatoes and peppers, summer squash, onions and corn. Tomatoes will slow down now that the temps are so high. The plants look great, but the blossoms will start falling off.
I just started bringing in eggplants and cucumbers.
Just remember to stay hydrated!
